LRC Training Department

About LRC Training

Initially named ETMA, LRC Training, was established by Llanelli Rural Council in 1988. Its purpose was to provide work experience and training for unemployed adults. It became an approved Work Based Learning provider in 1990. LRC Training continues to deliver successful Apprenticeship and Traineeship programmes. It remains a self-financing department within Llanelli Rural Council.

Over the last 12 months, the training department has delivered on the following:

  • The first year as a Prince’s Trust Team programme delivery partner has been completed. 37 learners joined teams 1-3 and 31 (84%)completed the programme successfully. Team 4 starts in July.
  • The first year of apprenticeship delivery for new recruits at the DVLA in Swansea is coming to a close. LRC Training has been working with Pathways Training under the Skills Academy Wales umbrella to deliver Customer Service Level 2 frameworks to 50 new apprentices. The scheme has been a success with projected completion rates of 82%. A similar recruitment for 2017/18 will commence in August.
  • LRC training is the top apprenticeship provider for Logistics in Wales. 88% of apprentices achieved their full framework. This year LRC Training are able to offer LGV Licence acquisition – Class 1 or 2, as part of the level 2 apprenticeship programme.
