About LRC Training

Initially named ETMA, LRC Training, was established by Llanelli Rural Council in 1988. Its purpose was to provide work experience and training for unemployed adults. It became an approved Work Based Learning provider in 1990. LRC Training continues to deliver successful Apprenticeship and Traineeship programmes. It remains a self-financing department within Llanelli Rural Council.

Over the last 12 months, the training department has delivered on the following:

  • LRC training continues to deliver a successful Traineeship programme throughout Carmarthenshire. Last year 92 young learners, aged 16-18, progressed from training programmes into higher level learning, employment or voluntary positions. Learners completed qualifications in Essential Skills, Employability Skills, Business Administration, Health and Social Care, Warehouse Operations and Customer Service.
  • LRC Training’s apprenticeship programme has grown during the last 12 months with 100 apprentices now on programme. Apprenticeships are available at level 2,3 and 4 in Business and Administration, Customer Service, Management, Logistics Operations, Warehouse and Storage, Road Passenger Transport and Driving Goods Vehicles. LGV licence acquisition is available within the Driving Goods Vehicle framework.
  • The department is a delivery Partner for the Princes’ Trust programmes for young people aged 16 to 24. These lead to approved qualifications in Employability and Personal Development with completion rates amongst the highest in the country.
