The Council wishes to apologise unreservedly to the family of the late Corporal Jamie Kirkpatrick for any distress or upset caused by the Council’s actions following the publication of an article in the press regarding the application of the Council’s protocol arrangements.
The Council deeply regrets how the matter has been portrayed, and can confirm that a letter of condolence has been sent to the bereaved family expressing the Council’s deepest sympathy over the tragic loss of Corporal Jamie Kirkpatrick who gallantly served his country in Afghanistan.
