Greener, Cleaner Llanelli

Llanelli Rural Council has teamed up with the Llanelli Community Partnership in order to provide additional litter picks and green space enhancements over the next 12 months. We are looking to complement and provide additional support to the Carmarthenshire Keep Wales Tidy, Carmarthenshire County Council’s Pride in Your Patch team and associated groups like Carmarthenshire Wildlife Watch, who carry out several clean ups in the Llanelli area each month. We are also working with Lee Waters AM and the Llanelli Star in their Clean Our Streets campaign.

In addition to this we are holding a clean-up each month in the Llanelli Rural area and are looking for local volunteers to help in the cleaning up of their community. The following litter picks have been scheduled between September and December 2016:

Friday 16 September, 10:00-12:00hrs. Litter pick for Furnace. Meet at Furnace RFC car park at 10:00am.

Friday 14 October, 10:00-12:00hrs. Litter pick for Ponthenri. Meet at Ponthenri FC changing rooms car park at 10:00am

Friday 18 November, 10:00-12:00hrs. Litter pick for Trallwm. Meet at Trallwm Hall car park at 10:00am

Friday 2 December, 10:00-12:00hrs. Litter pick for Swiss Valley. Meet at Swiss Valley Hall car park at 10:00am

Volunteers will be able to earn Time Credits for each hour they give to the rural area coordinated picks. Time Credits can be spent at various local and National attractions such as Ffos Las Racecourse or the Wales Millennium Centre.
